Petit Voyage
“Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.” Song of Songs 8, verse 4 – The siblings are on their way to Paris; their grandmother has died. They try to find her through old letters and pictures, to open up a conversation. When they finally arrive in Paris, it becomes clear that they won’t be staying. They meet a stranger. Petit Voyage is a queer film. An attempt to find one’s own order for a new life, to find a foothold not bound to any place. Only through people, only through the next ones. Always being on the road. Laughter sets the course. Sometimes overexertion and devotion are hard to tell apart.
